ANNOUNCING! Spring Bike maintenance and FS Bike Classes at NMC in Traverse City!!!!

We are super stoked to announce the return of TC’s favorite bike maintenance class and teacher to an actual classroom!!!
Break out your pipe and tweed jacket Chris is on stage! NMC Ext Ed will be hosting 2 different sessions this spring, Basic maintenance and understanding and seting up your full suspension bike!!!
Basic maintenance is just that PLUS you get an amazing resource Park Tools Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair included with the class!
The Full Suspension Mtn-Bike class will be very exciting… Most if not all people who buy a full suspension bike from a bike shop leave with very little knowledge on its proper setup, maintenance and workings. We are here to help! We demystify your bike help you set it up properly then head out for a ride in our 2nd session to feel the changes youve made yourself!

Gain simple, but important, bike repair and maintenance skills and ride the trails with confidence this summer. Learn how to properly clean and lubricate your bike and chain, adjust derailleurs, fine tune your brakes, and align your seat and handlebars. Discover how to repair a flat tire and save yourself a long walk back to the trailhead. Whether you ride on the TART Trail or are simply cruising town, you will gain important repair skills so you can ride safely and confidently this summer. Cost includes the “Big Blue Book of Bike Repair”, a $20 value.

If you are a mountain bike rider, you can enhance your riding experiences by learning how bike fit, ride and trail characteristics, and bike set-up all come together to enhance your riding performance. Beginning with a hands on demonstration, you will gain understanding of the steps and pre-ride adjustments essential for solid performance. Once you have your bike adjusted, take a fun ride on the VASA single track to test your set up. This is a great opportunity to get feedback on important maintenance topics and then take a ride. Bring your bike to class.
